Oh, Crap

A couple of days ago this ominous sign showed up in the vacant lot across the street from my house. It means that some people want to build a house there. Now, one of the reasons I bought my house in the first place was because I kind of had this whole curve of the road (I live in a canyon) to myself. This is not only for my own benefit, but because I have really loud band rehearsals at my house. So far, nobody had complained in the 4 years I have been here, and that's because my nearest neighbors aren't really that near.

Now I know there is probably nothing I can do about this, but I am going to go to the meeting in city hall on the date and time posted, and air out some grievances anyway, just for the experience of it. You see, they have been building new houses like crazy all over our neighborhood, already. It's annoying, loud, obnoxious, and filling in all these once-charming blank natural hillsides, all in the name of human greed. And it might be okay if the houses were kind of interesting, but these houses are really huge, 4-5 bedroom deals, pretentious in design, not charming whatsoever. And for the most part, our neighborhood has really cool houses. Two of them are even Frank Lloyd Wright houses.

Anyway, my dog and I will enjoy the vacant lot while we still can, and if there is an open house for the finished product I'll be sure to play my drum set, really loudly. That ought to chase away anyone who might be inclined to complain about me. =)

So, finally someone will build something there. I think that is a bad location for rainy day. The water will come down pouring from the top. They should survey in the rainy day before they build.
