Snacky 3 is Done. OMG

So Snacky 3 is "in the can" as they say in film. I worked my ass off getting this in on time for Blizzcon! It clocks in at 9 minutes....actually my longest machinima so far, as it turns out.

The night before it was due I pretty much pulled an all-nighter. I only got started working on the music at around midnight and ended up doing some really simple stuff because I just ran out of time - drum loops and some synth strings, pretty much. I wish I could've done a better job but...oh well.

I think that when people see this one they will notice it's a big step up from Snacky 2. I'm always trying to push myself and do something in the next one that I didn't do before.

You'll have to wait until the Blizzcon weekend to see it, though. (Aug 3-5) I'll release it on the web after then.

Snacky 3 Update

Just a little update for those who check in...I'm currently killing myself on Episode 3, to get it ready for Blizzcon. I had a couple of scenes done when they announced the contest, but as it turns out, to my horror, they were relatively easy scenes, compared to the insanely complex ones that I have been slapping together during the last few weeks.

I wanted episode 3 to be kind of a mini jungle adventure and I didn't realize how much work that was going to be! I've even got some lip sync going on the characters, in parts where it was odd that their lips weren't moving to the dialogue, like in tight facial shots, etc...it bugged me in the other episodes and I decided to work on it a little more this time. In subsequent episodes I'll probably do even more mouth animation. There are also a ton of other effects and visual eye candy that I felt really smug about when I figured out how to pull it off...I am hoping that people will see this episode and go...how the hell did she do that?? :)

Anyway, I should (barely) have it ready to submit by the deadline....and even if it's not a finalist in the competition, there will be another, TBA location at Blizzcon where you can see clips....but I'm hoping that you will, if you're attending the Con, get to see it premiere on the big screen....and prepare to be AMAZED! That is, if I survive the next week.
