Playing a bunch more gigs

I have been playing a lot of shows recently; I didn't bother to mention many of them here on the ol' SFP blog as I've never seen any SFP fans show up to any of my gigs, :P. Just for the record, here's a list of where I'll be playing at and who I'll be playing with for the next month or so. I'll be playing my new axe (pictured) that I'd been waiting ages for - I ordered it in November and they sent the wrong one in Feb - finally I got it yesterday. Finally. FINALLY....

Wow .. a Music Man Stingray 4 String Bass. Correct? That is a serious bass. And, the black pickguard looks grand against the sunburst finish.

My son plays bass, and I may try to steal him from his GF one night for one of the shows. Of the three bands that you will be performing with on the schedule, which of them do you think that a budding bass player might enjoy seeing the most"?

Heh, yeah, close - it's the little sister of the stingray, the sterling (I have small girly hands). But it was a custom order (fretless) and it took forEVER!

The show I would recommend would probably be the June 3 one which is a roots rock/country show, I dunno if your son is into that kind of music though. It's like Stones+Johnny Cash+rock+funk, not super modern stuff - but the gal is an awesome singer.

The Zen Boy Karma Girl band is a little indie folk/acoustic thing, no drums, but I do play a lot of complex bass with them ;P Very melodic, kinda like Donovan and Simon+Garfunkel but male/female duo. Also our Long Beach show would be slightly closer to where you live.
